Dalnara detects your native language (L1) during onboarding and customizes pronunciation feedback for your specific challenges. For example, Japanese speakers get targeted coaching on ㄹ sounds and final consonants, while English speakers focus on ㄲ/ㅃ/ㅉ tense consonants and the ㅡ vowel. This is powered by AI phoneme analysis that compares your speech to native Korean speakers.

Free gives you 1 lesson per day, 3 AI conversation sessions per day, basic pronunciation feedback, and full access to Hangul Master. Premium ($9.99/month or $59.99/year) unlocks unlimited AI conversation, L1-aware pronunciation coaching, all roleplay scenarios, the AI writing coach, TOPIK mode, and advanced SRS features.

Subscriptions are managed by the App Store or Google Play. To cancel:

iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Dalnara → Cancel
Android: Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Dalnara → Cancel

You'll retain Premium access until the end of your billing period. We don't offer refunds for unused subscription time, but Apple and Google may do so under their refund policies.

Add-ons are one-time purchases that unlock specific content packs permanently. Available add-ons include: Pronunciation Clinic ($4.99), K-Drama Pack ($3.99), TOPIK Mock Exams ($6.99), Business Korean ($9.99), K-Pop Listening ($2.99), and the Starter Bundle ($14.99). Once purchased, add-on content is yours forever — even if you cancel Premium.

First, try the "Restore Purchases" button in Settings → Subscription. If that doesn't work, force-quit and restart the app. Still not resolved? Email us at support@dalnara.app with your Apple ID or Google account email and purchase receipt, and we'll fix it manually within 24 hours.

Premium users get an AI tutor that maintains long-term memory of your learning progress — your weak vocabulary, pronunciation patterns, grammar struggles, and completed lessons. This means every session starts where you left off, with targeted suggestions. Your tutor memory is stored securely and can be reset from Settings if desired.

Audio recordings made during pronunciation practice are processed in real-time for feedback and are not stored permanently unless you explicitly save a session. We do not use your personal audio data to train general AI models. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Annual Premium subscribers get offline learning mode for downloaded lessons and flashcards. AI conversation, pronunciation analysis, and community features require an internet connection.

Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app. This will permanently delete your profile, learning history, and AI tutor memory within 30 days. Note: deleting your account does not automatically cancel your App Store/Google Play subscription — cancel that separately before deleting your account.
