Pie Nest Inc. ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Dalnara mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Dalnara.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account information: Email address and authentication data when you create an account (via email or Sign in with Apple).
• Learning data: Your lessons completed, pronunciation scores, vocabulary progress, SRS review history, and conversation transcripts with the AI tutor.
• Audio recordings: Voice recordings made during pronunciation practice sessions. These are processed in real-time and are not stored permanently unless you explicitly save a session.
• Device information: Device type, operating system version, app version, and crash logs for debugging purposes.
• Usage data: Feature usage patterns, session duration, and interaction counts to improve the app experience.
• Purchase information: Subscription status and add-on purchases, processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not store your payment card details.
• Native language: Your selected native language (L1) to power personalized pronunciation coaching.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and personalize the Dalnara learning experience
• To power L1-aware pronunciation coaching tailored to your native language
• To maintain your AI tutor's long-term memory of your progress and weak points
• To manage your subscription and add-on entitlements
• To enforce usage limits (Free tier: 3 AI sessions/day) and rate limiting
• To send optional push notifications about your daily learning streak
• To diagnose technical issues and improve app stability
• To comply with legal obligations

3. AI Processing

Dalnara uses AI models (including Anthropic Claude) to power pronunciation analysis, conversation practice, and writing coaching. Your inputs to the AI tutor (text and audio) are sent to our servers and third-party AI providers for processing. We do not use your personal learning data to train general AI models.

AI-generated responses are for educational purposes. They are not a substitute for professional language instruction.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Supabase: Our backend infrastructure provider (database, authentication, edge functions). Data is stored in servers compliant with applicable privacy laws.
• Anthropic: AI processing for pronunciation analysis, conversation, and writing coaching.
• RevenueCat: Subscription and purchase management.
• Apple / Google: App Store payment processing and device services.
• Law enforcement: When required by applicable law or valid legal process.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and learning data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law. Audio recordings not explicitly saved are deleted within 24 hours of your session.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and associated data
• Export your learning data in a portable format
• Opt out of non-essential data processing

7. Children's Privacy

Dalnara is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us immediately at privacy@dalnara.app.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, Row-Level Security on our database, and strict API key management. However, no system is completely secure — please use a strong, unique password for your account.

9. International Users

Dalnara is operated from South Korea. If you use the app from outside South Korea, your data may be transferred to and processed in other countries. By using Dalnara, you consent to this transfer.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Continued use of Dalnara after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
